The Department of Psychology at Rowan University, the third fastest growing public research institution as recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education, is seeking to hire tenure-track faculty to begin their appointment in September 2025. This search is part of a broader, multi-year faculty hiring initiative across the College of Science & Mathematics. Outstanding candidates with a strong research program in Human Factors Psychology, particularly those with applications related to health and/or technology, are preferred but candidates with research in any area of Psychology will be considered. Example research foci include, but are not limited to, biomechanics, healthcare solutions, artificial intelligence, human performance, and human-computer interactions.
A Ph.D. in Psychology, Human Factors, or a closely-related field, is required with a conferral date no later than July 1, 2025. Professional experience is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record and/or potential to establish and sustain a strong research program. We anticipate hiring at the Assistant Professor level, but outstanding candidates may be considered at the Associate or Full Professor levels. This position will entail teaching gross anatomy to first- and second-year medical students in an integrated curriculum. Teaching formats at CMSRU include lecture, small-group active learning, and cadaveric dissection laboratory sessions. Additional academic responsibilities will include preparation of demonstration prosections; advising and mentoring students in the development of scholarly projects; assessing, reviewing, and evaluating student educational activities and progress; serving on university and departmental committees; and contributing to anatomical teaching in the summer programs.
