The Departments of Student Health and Family Medicine at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey, are seeking a licensed psychologist (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) for a full-time faculty position in our Stratford, New Jersey office.  The qualified candidate must possess a commitment to working with marginalized and underserved communities and experience in the administration & delivery of primary patient care services in an inter-professional setting. A secondary appointment to the Rowan University Psychology Department and supervision of Psychology Ph.D. student is possible.    

This is a non-tenured faculty position.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide culturally informed assessment and evaluation of patient, treatment, and referrals for patients experiencing emotional, social, and mental health problems.
  • Provide personal counseling and performance coaching services to health professional students within the high-stakes professional setting of the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine umbrella.
  • Consider social determinants of health and social identities in assessment, treatment, and patient referrals.
  • Provide consultation to other clinical staff in the department as requested.
  • Adhere to standards and values of patient centered care.
  • Participate in pre and post-doctoral medical training activities, education & feedback within the Department of Family Medicine
  • Participate in student & resident research opportunities
  • Participate in the Health Careers Opportunities Program (HOCP) as a faculty support under the direction of the HCOP Co-Director and Principal Investigator.
  • Participate in pre and post-doctoral training activities, education & feedback within the Department of Family Medicine.
  • Collaborate with ongoing research activities
  • Provide HRSA Health Careers Opportunities Program curricular support
  • Involvement in department, school, and university committees.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the Director of Employee Health or Department Chairperson.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited APA doctoral program. Candidates must be licensed in the state of New Jersey at the time of hire.  Prior experience providing counseling to undergraduate and/or graduate students on a university campus is required.

Candidates should have experience in providing counseling to students at either undergraduate or graduate level.  Candidates should be highly organized and creative problem-solvers who value the importance of medical education, are effective communicators and demonstrate excellence in interpersonal skills. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking candidates are encouraged.
