The Community Site Liaison for the HRSA Pathways to Careers in Primary Care Program is responsible for the clinical training and evaluation components of the program, designed to prepare medical students for careers in primary care with a focus on rural and medically underserved communities in New Jersey. Reporting to the Co-Project Director, the Community Site Liaison will oversee clinical training schedules, support and coordinate with preceptors, monitor student progress, and ensure compliance with program standards and objectives.  This is a non tenure position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, implements, and manages clinical training schedules to align with program goals, providing students with a comprehensive primary care experience primarily in medically underserved areas.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for administrative staff at each site, offering guidance, resources, and support to enhance the clinical learning environment.

  • Oversees the clinical evaluation of students, ensuring timely assessment of competencies and skills as required by the program.

  • Collaborates with the Project Director, Co-Project Director, and grant team to develop clinical training modules and address program needs as they arise.

  • Monitors and maintains records of student clinical experiences and evaluations to ensure alignment with HRSA and program requirements.

  • Assists in data collection and reporting in collaboration with the Project Evaluator to comply with GPRA requirements and other federal data reporting standards.

  • Participates in federal grant training and becomes proficient in eRACommons and related platforms to maintain grant compliance.

  • Coordinates with local healthcare partners, including but not limited to Southern Jersey Family Medical Center, Virtua Health, Inspira Health, Capital Health, AtlantiCare, and CarePoint Health, to ensure the program provides diverse and meaningful clinical experiences.

  • Maintains awareness of Rowan-Virtua SOM compliance standards, including the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.

  • Travels to various clinical sites and affiliated healthcare facilities as required to oversee clinical training activities and meet grant objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform the essential duties satisfactorily, the individual must meet the qualifications below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree, preferably in social or health sciences.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an instructor in a medical school or other health professions school, with demonstrated experience in clinical training oversight.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.

  • Ability to function effectively within a team, manage multiple priorities, and work collaboratively with clinical partners.

  • Valid driver’s license required.


This role may require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines. Attendance at meetings across multiple sites and off-campus locations is essential.
